Saturday Nov 13th, the Novotel Southampton hosted the annual presentation evening for all H&DARA clubs to celebrate the success of 2021; a shortened season due to the pandemic, starting late June, with back to back and sometimes double header weekend events until August.

LARC filled 3 tables with 27 rowers and friends and families in attendance.

Well done to guest speaker Livvi Bull; our Ladies captain, who chose the Swanage Regatta as the theme of her speech for the evening. For those of you who may not know, the Swanage regatta is unique as it’s hosted by a composite team from many H&DARA clubs and is not a sole club hosted event. It’s a firm, FUN favourite in the calendar and fabulous to be the regatta that brought us all back together after the difficult lockdown period. Livvi is from a strong family of rowers, her dad; Tim, heavily involved with the successful crews of this season and beyond. Tim is also in the composite organising team for the Swanage Regatta.

Although the annual campsite antics/ fancy dress/ party night couldn’t happen this year due to social restrictions, I feel sure she has advertised it well to all those new and upcoming rowers for ‘22.

Our Men’s Masters 40 Four; Pete Lock, Hugo Mills, Mike Leyland-Jones and Marc Tremain with Cox Livvi Bull, retained their H&DARA Championship title for another season.
